Bhí baill de Chomhchoiste Títhe an Oireachtais um Cur i bhFeidhm Comhaontú Aoine an Chéasta ar chuairt tráthnóna inniu 21/2/18 chuig Gaeltacht Bhéal Feirste, áit ar bhuail siad le áisíneacht Forbartha na Ceathrún Gaeltachta, Forbairt Feirste agus le daltaí agus múinteoirí Choláiste Feirste.
A delegation of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement were on a visit today 21/2/18 to Belfast’s Gaeltacht where they met with the Gaeltacht Development Agency, Forbairt Feirste as well as with senior pupils and teachers at Coláiste Feirste.

Pilib Ó Ruanaidh, Chairperson of Forbairt Feirste, the Gaeltacht Quarter Development Agency has today 5/02/18his deep disappointment that he has only received one substantive reply to the open letter he issued on January 31st to Tánaiste Simon Coveney TD, British Secretary of State, Karen Bradley MP and the leaders of the local Political Parties to organise as a matter of urgency a fact finding delegation to Belfast’s Gaeltacht. In his open letter to all the main parties to the current Stormont talks, Mr Ó Ruanaidh said: “How the issue of Irish Language speakers’ rights are addressed should be clearly informed by a sound knowledge of the everyday issues facing those whose first choice of language, in education, business, home life and public life, is Irish.”

Bhí oíche spleodrach ionspioraideach ann i Spórtlann na hÉireann, Oíche Imbolg nó Oíche na Féile Bhrigde (1/2/18) nuair a thainig coistí bunaithe Gaeilscoileanna le chéile chun plaic a nochtadh a dhéanann ómós a thabahirt daoibh sin a thosaigh agus a d’fhorbair an córas Gaeloideachais sna coistí éagsúla a bhunaidh scoileanna Gaeilge Feirste.
Belfast Gaels had a vibrant inspiring St Brigid’s night in Spórtlann na hÉireann (1/2/18) when the founding committees of Belfast’s Gaelscoileanna came together to view the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the endeavours of those who pioneered and developed Irish Medium Schooling in Belfast.
