Ón Oirthear Aniar – They Came from the East

Tomás Stothers and friend from Strand Presbyterian with the Original Bible from Broadway Presbyterian Church, Now Cultúrlann.

Dúirt stiúrthóir Forbairt Feirste, Jake MacSiacais, go raibh áthas an domhain air sean chara de chuid na Ceathrún Gaeltachta a fheiceáil ar ais agus cairde óna phobal féin in éineacht leis. Tháinig Tomás, chuig an Cultúrlann i bhfad siad i 1991 nuair a chéad fosclaíodh an áit. Baisteadh Tomás féin anseo nuair a bhí sé ina Eaglais.
Forbairt Feirste director, Jake MacSiacais has said he was absolutely delighted that an old friend, Tomas Stothers, had returned to the Gaeltacht Quarter after a recent visit bringing other members of his congregation with him. Tomás, a relative of Jim Stothers, the Deputy Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, first visited Cultúrlann when it opened way back in 1991. He was himself baptised in Broadway. Jim, of course, is a man himself with a huge interest in the history of the Church and of the role played by Presbyterians in preserving Gaelic.
