Gaeilge

Is chuig Tuaisceart Bhéal Feirste a thriall Forbairt Feirste Dé Máirt 13/4/10, agus iad ag brú stráitéis comharthaíochta s’acu níos faide ar fud na cathrach. Tógra páirtnéireachta atá anseo idir Fhorbairt Feirste agus eagraíocht Ghaeilge Thuaisceart Bhéal Feirste, Cumann Chultúrtha Mhic Reachtain, dream atá ag obair go leanúnach le gnóthaí ar an talamh sa cheantar chun go raibh an Ghaeilge níos feiceálaí.

Dúirt Oifgeach Forbartha Cumann Chultúrtha Mhic Reachtain, Niall Ó Maitiú:

“Tá Siopa an Phobail ar Bhóthar Aontroma i ndiadh comhartha Ghaeilge ghleoite a chuir in airde a chuireann go mór le hobair s’againn sa taobh seo den chathair. Forbraíonn comharthaíocht dhátheangach athbheochán na Gaeilge i measc an phobail agus spreagann sé gnóthaí eile chun luach na teangan a aithint mar dheis díolta uathúil.”

D’aontaigh Feargal MacIonnrachtaigh, Oifigeach Tionscnaimh Gnó le Gaeilge Forbairt Feirste leis, agus dúirt sé: “Ta lúchair ó chroí againn, athbheochán na Gaeilge a eascú le grúpaí Gaeilge atá ag obair ar an talamh ar fud na cathrach agus tá muid ag dúil le tógáil air seo amach anseo.

“Lena chois sin, tá muid iontach sásta a fhogairt go bhfuil scéim náisiúnta Foras na Gaeilge, ‘Tá Gnó agat leis an Ghaeilge’ oscailte athuair agus tugann seo deis do ghnothaí bheaga agus mheanmhéide maoiniú meáitseála 50/50 a aimsiú mar chabhair le comharthaíocht seachtrach agus staisinéireacht dhátheangach a chur ar fáil. Éascaíonn muid gnóthaí agus grúpaí ar suim leo cur isteach ar an scéim agus soláthraíonn muid seirbhísí aistriúcháin saor in aisce chomh maith. Feidhmíonn an scéim i bhfábhar an té is tuisce le cur isteach air agus ba chóir d’éinne ar suim leo an scéim teagmháil a dhéanamh linn ag Forbairt Feirste ar 07841101630.”

Forbairt Feirste headed to the North of the City on Tuesday 13/4/10 as part of the promotion of their city-wide bilingual signage strategy. This was part of a partnership project between Forbairt Feirste and North Belfast Irish language organisation, the McCracken Cultural Society who work closely with businesses on the ground in the area to promote visible Irish language signage.

North Belfast Irish language Organisation, Cumann Chultúrtha Mhic Reachtain have been working closely with Belfast Irish language development Agency, Forbairt Feirste on bilingual signage in the North of the City.

Cumann Chultúrtha Mhic Reachtain, Development Worker, Niall Ó Maitiú, stated:

“Siopa an Phobail on the Antrim Road has recently erected a fantastic new bilingual sign which makes a huge contribution to our work in this part of the city. Visible signage promotes the language amongst the community and encourages other businesses in the area to recognise the value of the language as a unique selling point.”

Forbairt Feirste Irish Means Business Project Worker Feargal Mac Ionnrachtaigh concurred and added:

“We are delighted to facilitate language promotion amongst Irish language organisations working on the ground throughout the city and look forward to building on this in the future.

“We are also delighted to announce that Foras na Gaeilge’s national ‘Irish means business’ scheme has just reopened. This scheme allows small and medium sized businesses to get 50/50 match funding aid with bilingual external signage and stationary. We facilitate businesses and groups interested in applying for this scheme and provide free translation services in the process. This scheme works on a first come, first served basis and anyone looking to avail of it, should contact us on 07841101630.’
