Bhí breis agus céad duine i láthair ag Cultúrlann MacAdam Ó Fiaich aréir Déardaoin 1ú Bealtaine, nuair a rinne, Michaeál Mac Aoidh, Ealaín na Gaeltachta, lainseáíl ar, Taispeántas Idir Dhá Aigne.

Bronnadh na pictiúir seo ar Choláiste Feirste agus ar Mhisean Oirthear Bhéal Feirste, áit a bhfuil siad ar taispeáint go buan sna seomraí fáiltithe.

Le bliain anuas tá obair déanta ag an dá ealaíontóir seo, go neamhspleách ar a chéile agus iad ag caitheamh súil ar a gceantair féin agus ar cheantair a chéile. Ar bharr sin bhí siad beirt ag obair i gcomhpháirt le daltaí Choláiste Feirste agus daltaí ‘Ardscoil Cailíní Gort na Fuinseoige’.

De thoradh na hoibre seo nochtadh daichead a seacht píosa ealaíne aréir a thugann saibhreas oirthear agus iarthar na Cathrach chun solais agus a tugann cuireadh dúinn-ne go léir seasamh sa spás cruthaitheach seo Idir Dhá Aigne chun súil a chaitheamh as a nua ar radhairc dár gCathair comónta, fríd súile na n-ealaíontóirí.

Más rud gur chaill tú an lainseáil beidh an taispeántas sa Chultúrlann go dtí an 12ú Meitheamh.

It was a full house at Cultúrlann MacAdam Ó Fiaich last night, Thursday 1st May, when Michaeál Mac Aoidh, of Gaeltacht Arts, launched the Idir Dhá Aigne Exhibition.

This Forbairt Feirste project, grew from our Beechmount Heritage Initiative. As part of that two artists Michael Doherty, a native of the Falls and John Stewart, a native of Templemore Avenue, were commissioned to do a piece of art each, these were then gifted to Coláiste Feirste and the East Belfast Mission where they are on permanent and prominent display in the respective reception areas.

For the past year the two artists have worked independently of each other setting down on canvass their view of their own and each other’s area.  On top of this they have worked co-operatively with the students of Coláiste Feirste and Ashfield Girls High School.

As a result of this work we now have forty-seven pieces of art which bring the richness of West and East Belfast to life and which give us all the opportunity to stand here in this creative space ‘Idir Dhá Aigne’, looking afresh, through the eyes of the artists’ at views of this city of ours which we all share in common.

If you missed the launch the exhibition will be on show at Cultúrlann until June 12th.
