Tá seanfhocail agus teachtaireachtaí ársa Ghaelacha le feiceáil ar na ballaí sa Cheathrú Ghaeltachta. Is sa Choirceog Bheach ar Bhóthar na bhFál atá an saibhreas teanga seo le mothú le cúlbhalla iomlán maisithe ag seanfhocail agus seán-nathanna Gaelacha.

Tá an bhalla maisithe i spás gleoite ar chul an bhear a chuirfeas Cúinne na Coirceoige ar fáil do dhaoine áitiúla agus cuairteoirí in am do Féile an Phobail.

Ag labhairt fán tionscadal samhlaíoch seo, dúirt úinéir an tí tábhairne, Phil Bannon:

‘Tá muid ar bís fán Bhalla Ghaelach seo a thugann ardán don Ghaeilge agus a cheiliúrann seanfhocail ársa Ghaelacha. Aithníonn muidne sa Choirceog Bheach an luach breise a thugann an cultúr Gaelach dúinn i gcúrsaí gnó agus tá ag dúil le bheith rannpháirteach i bhforbairtí na Ceathrún Gaeltachta sna bliantaí amach romhainn.’

Ag caint ar an Bhalla Ghaelach, dúirt Oifigeach Tionscadail, Forbairt Feirste, Feargal Mac Ionnrachtaigh:

‘Ba mhaith le Forbairt Feirste tréaslú le Phil agus an Choirceog Bheach as an tionscadal nualaíoch agus chruthaitheach seo a chuireann saibhreas na teanga os comhair an phobail i suíomh sóisialta, taitneamhach. Tá muid ag dúil le bheith ag obair go dlúth leo sna bliantaí amach romhainn agus molaimid do Ghaeil feidhm a bhaint as an spás phoiblí seo nuair a reáchtálann siad imeachtaí sóisialta.

Irish proverbs and ancient gems of Gaelic wisdom are adorning the walls in the Gaeltacht Quarter. The Bee Hive bar on the Falls Road is where linguistic richness is to be found with the back wall having been fully designed with Irish proverbs and idiomatic Gaelic expressions.

The Gaelic wall of wit and wisdom is situated in a bespoke area to the rear of the premises and will make this Corner of the Hive available as a hive of activity with Gaelic ambience for locals and visitors alike just in time for the annual culture fest of Féile an Phobail.

Speaking on this imaginative project, the Bee Hive bar owner, Phil Bannon stated:

‘We are delighted with this new Gaelic Wall which gives a platform to the Irish language and celebrates old Irish proverbs. We, in the Bee Hive, recognise the added value that Irish culture brings to our business and look forward to playing an active role in the development of the Gaeltacht Quarter in the years ahead.

Welcoming this latest development, Forbairt Feirste Project Officer Feargal Mac Ionnrachtaigh said:

“Forbairt Feirste would like to congratulate Phil and those at the Bee Hive on this innovative and creative new project which showcases the richness of the language to our community in an enjoyable social setting. We look forward to working closely with them in the years ahead and we would encourage Gaels to utilise this pubic space when organising social events’.
