The Gaeltacht Way consortium  are delighted to be announcing the launch of a new public art and heritage trail ‘Slí na Gaeltachta’.

Slí na Gaeltachta is an integrated and commonly branded trail of some 2.2 miles beginning in Belfast City Centre and leading to just beyond the Whiterock and Falls road junctions through the heart of the city’s Gaeltacht Quarter.

Phase one of the trail incorporates 26 stone plaques that celebrate elements of the cultural, linguistic, sporting, literary and artistic heritage of the Gaeltacht Quarter illuminating the quarter in ways which will allow citizens of Belfast and visitors to the city an easy to follow trail, or indeed allowing them to pick it up at any point along its route.

Slí na Gaeltachta consortium comprises Forbairt Feirste, Fáilte Feirste Thiar, An Chultúrlann and the Upper Springfield Public Art project and has received financial assistance from the Houising Executive and Belfast City Council.
