Tá se fograithe go bhfuil an saineolaí idirnáisiúnta athghiniúna úirbí Clive Dutton ceaptha chun focás úr a dhíriú ar Cheathrú Ghaeltachta Bhéal Feirste. Beidh Dutton ag obair go dlúth le Airí Rialtais sa Tuaisceart, le Comhairle Bhéal Feirste agus le Forbairt Feirste chun bealtaí úra a aithint chun chlaochlú ecnamúil agus soisialta a thabhairt i gcrích ar chun de na dúshlainn Cathrach domhánda.
Internationally renowned urban renewal guru Clive Dutton has been appointed to focus on the city’s Gaeltacht Quarter. He will work closely with Ministers, Belfast City Council and Forbairt Feirste to identify new ways to bring economic and social transformation to one of the world’s greatest inner city challenges.

Tá scaifte de Ghaeil Feirste ón Cheathrú Ghaeltachta agus foghlamóirí na Gaeilge ó Mhisean Óirthear Bhéal Feirste i ndiaidh pilleadh ó thuras stairiúl deireadh seachtaine chun Oileáin Í Cholm Chille, agus ó croílár Ríocht Dál Riata ag Dún Add, áit a rinne siad ceiliúradh ar chéad turas Cholm Chille féin chun an oileáin agus chun críocha Dál Riata in Alban sa bhliain 563.Irish speakers from Belfast’s Gaeltacht Quarter along with Irish language learners from the East Belfast Mission based group Turas have just returned from an historical weekend trip to Saint Colmchille’s Monastery Island of Iona and to the ancient political capital of Dúnadd, where they celebrated Colmchille’s own arrival in the Scottish territories of Dálriata in the year 563.

Céim Eile Chun Tosaigh – Another Milestone Reached

Another step change in the transformation of the Gaeltacht Quarter has taken place with the erection and unveiling of a decorative hoarding, by environment minister Alex Attwood, around the site of the planned Áras na bhFál building at the top of Broadway. Áras na bhFál is an initiative by Iontaobhas na Gaelscolaíochta ( The Irish Medium School Trust) which will occupy this central and formerly derelict site.

Súil an Dearcadóra – Eye of the Beholder

Forbairt Feirste’s Oidhreacht Ard na bhFeá – Beechmount Heritage initiative will be launched this coming Wednesday April 3rd when two pieces of specially commissioned art from local artists, Mícheál Doherty and John Stewart will be exchanged at Coláiste Feirste in a public unveiling and launch entitled Súil an Dearcadóra – Eye of the Beholder.

Three Belfast Gaeilgeoirí, Forbairt Feirste Director Jake MacSiacais, Fóram na nGael representative Feargal MacIonnrachtaigh and Aisling Ní Labhraí, Good Relations Officer at Cultúrlann MacAdam Ó Fiaich, were guests at the Lord Mayor’s Parlour in Belfast City Hall on Monday last, March 11th, where they discussed, at the invitation of the Lord Mayor Alderman Gavin Robinson, the Cairt Bhéal Feirste 400 , which was presented to the council last month. Also present at Monday’s meeting were Council Deputy Chief Executive Ciaran Quigley and council Good Relations Unit Manager Hazel Francey.

Four Belfast Gaeilgeoirí from across the generations were at Belfast City Hall on Tuesday last, February 20th to present Cairt Bhéal Feirste 400 (The Belfast 400 Charter) to the City’s Lord Mayor Alderman Gavin Robinson.

Lá Stairiúil ag Halla Uladh Historic Day at Ulster Hall

Bhí na céadtaí i láthair ag Halla Uladh Dé Céadaoin 5/12/12 mar chuid d’ócáid stairiúil a bhí a reáchtáil ag Foras na Gaeilge i gcomhar leis an Chomhairle Ealaíon.
The Ulster Hall played host to hundreds of Irish speakers on Wednesday 5/12/12 as Foras na Gaeilge in partnership with the Arts Council staged an historic Irish Language Christmas Book Fair in the Belfast City Centre venue.
